Activities for Unit Lessons:

Biography Poem: students will create a biography poem about the subject of their biography! Students will use different adjectives and information that they learned about their subject as they read their biography book.

Include final biography poem in flipbook project

Biography Stop and Jot: students will write long off of three post-its that they created while they were reading their biography book. Students should use text evidence and page numbers in their responses and also explain their stop and jot to support their thinking.

Biography Subject Trait Analysis: students will need to identify three character traits that their subject has. Then students will have to use text evidence to support their choice of character trait. After that, students will have to explain how the character portrays those traits in the biography they are reading.

Biography Flipbook: students will put together a biography flipbook using the notes that they take throughout the unit. Students will utilize the reading calendar to plan out the days of reading and pages being read. Students will use all the important information from their novel about their subject to create an informative flipbook with pictures and text evidence.
