Remember what we have learned about character traits so far this year!

During our character unit earlier this year, we learned all about how to identify different character traits that a character possesses.

  • Inside Traits: internal charcteristics

    • Examples: feelings, emotions, thoughts, etc.

  • Outside Traits: external characteristics

    • Examples: physical appearance, what the character looks like, etc.

  • Practice identifying outside and inside traits about the subject of your biography by filling out this GoogleDoc on character traits

We also learned how to analyze a character’s feelings, actions, thoughts, and sayings to learn more about them as a person.

  • The process of analyzing a character based on what their feelings, actions, thoughts, and sayings are is called FAST characterization!

Lesson 5: Who is your biography subject as a person?

Who is your biography subject as a person?

How would your describe them?

  • Now that we are experts on FAST characterization and identifying character traits, think about the subject of your biography!

  • What character traits do they possess? What characteristics do they have?

    • How would you describe them? Think about both inside and outside traits that you could use!

  • Think about their feelings, actions, thoughts, and sayings that you have noticed about the subject of your biography as you read.

    • What do those feelings, actions, thoughts, and sayings tell you about the subject?

  • Now you will analyze the subject of your biography by completing this Character Trait Analysis GoogleDoc, this will count as a quiz grade! Make sure to use specific examples and text evidence (feelings, actions, thoughts, dialogue) to support each of the traits that you choose! Feel free to use the character trait chart below for some ideas!
