Week 4: Mini-Project
Using Games in the Classroom
For this week's project, I chose to focus on my historical fiction unit for my fifth grade Literature class. The students recently finished reading Number the Stars. They will complete a READ and ROLL game where they will answer questions based on the plot. Then the students will create a board game based on the novel. They will need to include at least 25 questions based on the novel (questions can be about the characters, setting, events, problem, solution, theme, etc.). After creating and finishing the game boards, the students will take turns playing each others games to further understand the plot in Number the Stars. These two games will allow students to be creative while also keeping them engaged and interested in the topic.
