BRAINS MIDTERM: Elements of a Story
For my midterm, I chose to focus on a Language Arts lesson that I have taught my fifth grade students. This fifth grade lesson was all about the Elements of a Story! Please feel free to check out my Prezi that I have put together to showcase the different parts of my lesson. I have also come up with notes that I used to aid my presentation!
This lesson focuses on the Elements of a Story which can also be referred to as the plot of the story, which is what a reader talks about when telling a summary of a story! The plot of a story is the important events that happen in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. The students will be learning about the different elements of a story which include exposition (characters and setting), conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
My lesson was made to engage different learning styles, multiple intelligences, brainy bits, and highlights my educational pedagogy.
