The following two links include two great printable Food Chain activities!

The first activity includes Food Chain Task Cards. These task cards have a ton of great questions that reinforce the Prezi lesson! There are questions about food chains, including producers, consumers, and decomposers!

The second activity is a Food Chain Card Game! You can play this game with a partner or with a group of 3 or 4! The directions for the card game are:

  1. Print and cut the cards.

  2. Mix the animal & free choice cards together. Deal them out to the players, face up. Place the plant cards in the center of

    the table, face down.

  3. The first player turns over a plant card. Then he or she chooses one of the plant-eater animal cards from his or her pile and places it next to the plant chosen. If the other players decide that animal would not eat that plant, he or she must try again.

  4. If a player cannot play a card, he or she passes his or her turn.

  5. The next player continues the food chain playing one of her cards.

  6. Keep playing until no one can continue the food chain any longer. Each player gets a pint for each card they play. Mix up

the cards and divide them up again.

  7. Let another player start the next round choosing a plant to start the food chain.

  8. Free choice cards can be used in place of any animal- they can choose any that will fit in the chain.

  9. The player with the most points wins the game!
