Lesson Materials

Below you will find different materials used and created in the process of putting together this Food Chain Lesson!

Lesson Plans

Two separate lesson plants were created for this project. I used two different formats. The first lesson plan is the Backwards Design Lesson plan that I created for this Food Chain Lesson. The second lesson plan I created is a more simplistic lesson plan that I often use for lessons! Feel free to check them both out and use them for your class! You might need to modify things here and there, but it should work for you! Rubrics for the different assignments are also included in both lesson plans.

Before I start any lesson, I always use Pinterest to spark different ideas. Pinterest is full of wonderful ideas and resources. I often find great additions to my lessons through Pinterest through different free resources! Feel free to check out my other Pinterest Boards!

I used this StoryTelling Chart to break down the different characters in the book Secrets of the Garden. I chose to use this book as a Read-Aloud for my class as an introduction to my lesson on Food Chains! I felt that this was a good choice for the lesson because the characters and setting are easy to relate to. The two children and their parents are helping to create and maintain a garden, and in the process they learn all about food chains!

This is the Rubric that I used to evaluate my own project. This entire section of the website (Teaching Curriculum Using Stories) is my final project for the Masters Course!

This link brings you to a document where I explained the different Common Core standards that are aligned with each part of this project/lesson on Food Chains.

PICTURES and IMAGES

All of the pictures and images that were used throughout this website, as well as project, were retrieved from Google Images.

Through this link you can find the Works Cited page. The Works Cited is done in MLA format. Feel free to check it out!
